Flannel pajama pants. Supportive brassieres. The sound of three dogs crunching kibble. Matty hugs. Dances with Leeloo. Spooning with Tino. A husband that handles stuff I can’t. Chocolate ice cream. 24 hour bodegas within walking distance. 24 hour fried chicken places within walking distance. A washer and dryer. Friends who are mere blocks away. A big ass television. Netflix. The new recording studio. An expecting friend. Pea soup. Facebook. Ugg boots. Owning a camera. Rob’s beard. Not being in a wheelchair. The “for free” section on Craigslist. Books. A subway map on my iPhone.

  2. I’m thankful that you introduced me to Regina Spektor a few years back (presently listening to “The Flowers”). You prefaced playing “Your Honor” by saying “This girl’s for you.” Upon seeing her picture I said, “She’s cute.” You replied, “I knew she was your type.”

    So, bottom line: if you happen to befriend her, talk me up (but don’t make it obvious that you’re doing so) and get us in the same room. Otherwise, I’ll be in NYC for a stretch around Christmas and want to meet up.

  4. I’m thankful for hot buttered rum on cold, windy camping trips. I’m thankful for how wonderful and comfortable my room is. I’m thankful that my new job recognizes mah mad copy editing skillz and that I will soon be out of debt. I’m thankful for all of the love that surrounds me.

    Also, it’s kinda funny to see you and Patrick talking about Regina Spektor. (Hi, Patrick!) I’m listening to Ode to Divorce right now and have been on a Regina Spektor(/Sia — Have you heard/seen the video for “Soon We’ll Be Found“?) kick recently.

    so far on the list (which is long…): everything from lingering in bed with the husband past the alarm ringing to Rosebud Salve to my beautiful new niece to DVR and the liquor store across the street.
