I have a saying I mumble to myself in the most trying of times, “Ever onward. Ever upward.” I think I got it from church when I was little, but I’m not sure. It’s been an integral part of the fabric of my thought process for so long, I’ve forgotten.
Also, I have a “thing” for hot air balloons.
I kind of had to buy this.
Available at SeeSaw Designs, $10

That phrase is from Chronicles of Narnia “The Last Battle” so it makes sense that you learned it in church. It’s a great quote and beautiful image.

Is it? I don’t remember that phrase. I remember “Further up and further in!” in the end of the book. Time to re-read!

Chronicles is “Further up and further in.” I read it at least once a year
It’s my favorite one of them all. I feel like “Ever onward. Ever upward” is from a hymn…which would also make sense in light of church. But if not, it’s definitely something us Christians would say

Jen, you’re right! A Google search of a bunch of different combos of the two words got me at least two different Christian hymns every time.
