Everywhere I Go

“You probably could have written this song! Its one of Jack’s favorites and i think about you whenever I hear it.”

I love this! My friend Emily – mom to one year old Jack – sent me this video with that note, which made me realize I haven’t written anything in ages. It’s sad; I used to have a box full of potential little kid songs that was added to weekly, although none of them got far.

One of the best things ever is when old friends remind you of parts of yourself you haven’t thought about in a while. I’ve spent the past few days writing a ton of extra lines to this song, although none of them are appropriate! Way fun, though.

I’m going to add “Sell a kid’s song” to my life list.

Thanks, Emily!

Enjoy having this stuck in your head ALL WEEKEND!

If you can’t get the tunes together, why not just make a children’s rhymes book? Doesn’t need to be big – just need to be catchy with nice cartoony stuff.

    and…

    (i hit submit prematurely)

… i can relate about the “parts of yourself you have not thought about in awhile” part. i used to write at least a poem a day, short stories and plays (these ones in Tagalog) every so often… two of them went in to production even! these days, i can’t even finish a thought!

    sigh, sigh, sigh…

(I found your blog via JewishWeddingNetwork)

Firstly, thanks SO much for introducing that little earworm … I’m trying to get it out but alas, it’s taken up residence and now I will be singing it everywhere this weekend!

And I get ya with parts of you that you haven’t thought about for a while. Now that I’m planning a move + transition into freelance work, I’m hoping to allocate more time for writing and photography, which I love but which get pushed aside for career reasons.
