I met Mary Kramer at the National Stationary Show back in March* and was pretty smitten with her designs. She founded Overdue Cards, a cheeky greeting card and paper product company. They currently have two product lines: Overpass cards imitate “Will work for food” signs scrawled on cardboard, and her Overdue cards (the company’s namesake) are pretty backgrounds paired with old fashioned library catalog cards – some real, some made up, and some that look like a cross between the two – that coordinate with the greeting.

Mary has agreed to give one reader a box set of her whimsical cards. Just leave a comment below to enter – since it’s fall, share your favorite fall activity! I’ll draw the winner next Monday.
*I swear that I’m going to blog all of the wonderful people I met there EVENTUALLY, probably right before NEXT March when I meet a whole slew of OTHER people and have to start going through the stack of wonderful business cards yet again. So goes the life of the busy blogger.

Hmmm… Favorite fall activity. Baking pies from freshly picked berries. Leaf piles. New sweaters and scarves. Hot tea with honey. Bonfires with marshmellows and laughing. Walks in the woods. Pumpkin everything.

Favorite fall activity… peeking out the window at the soggy Pacific Northwest from inside my nice cozy house. And consuming anything involving eggnog, pumpkin, cranberries, or gingerbread (thank goodness winter clothes are good for hiding weight gain).

I want!
There are 3 things I like to do during the fall season:
1. Driving around New England, enjoying the beautiful foliage.
2. Eating pies.
3. Fall shopping. I love fall clothes!

A walk in the woods, where I try to catch the leaves out of the air as they are falling down from the trees.
Always hoping nobody sees me jumping and twirling around
like a fool.

the fall always makes me imagine moving out to the country into a little house with a wood stove and some chickens out back. i only have this urge in the fall, for some reason. my favorite fall activity is to walk around the city admiring the sky and the trees, envisioning my imaginary country home.

Fall is my absolute favorite time of year! I love the smell of firewood burning and wearing scarves. I go into baker overload in the fall, molassas cookies and pumkin cake etc etc. It’s just lovely!

Apple picking is my favorite fall activity
And then the baking that follows… apple crisp, apple muffins, apple cake… mmmmm

Cooking hearty soups/stews, bringing out my favorite scarves and wearing thick socks. But, I think my favorite is just standing outside and smelling the air.

Um, # 1: HALLOWEEN! Carving pumpkins, baking pies, passing out candy to the kiddies, eating candy corn, smelling the awesome fall air, piling up leaves to jump in, celebrating my sister’s birthday on Halloween, drinking apple cider, wearing sweaters again, boots!, thinking about what to buy my daughter for Xmas, pumpkin pie!, watching Rocky Horror Picture Show the one time of year they see fit to play it, dressing up in costumes, pretty leaves, pretty sunsets, parties, and uhhm, lots of other things I can’t remember right now. I love Fall though!

Fall and Spring are my favorite seasons. As a die hard New Englander it’s all about the trees. One of my favorite activities is to drive around and observe how differently the trees are changing.
Another thing I love is the smell in the evenings when people have started to fire up their woodstoves or use their fireplaces. It’s a unique combination of wood burning and freshly fallen leaves which has been know to bring me to tears.

The best part of fall? FIRES! We just moved to the UK, awesome fall weather, and we have a fireplace in nearly every room… unfortunately, only one works, and it’s all modernized. ONE. The rest are there, just blocked up. Fabulous 1880s Victorian masterpieces that just sit there, with candles in them. At least we can have one cozy, warm room.
Also, again an unfortunate, I love pumpkin pie and most people here can’t stand it. =( I haven’t yet found canned pumpkin, and I’m far too lazy to buy a pumpkin to do myself…

Anything that involves pumpkins! Carving, eating, baking, throwing, coffee, beer, pie. If it’s fall I am doing it with a pumpkin.

Favorite fall activity…hmmm…
IF I was still in New England (sad face), I would love to be roaming the pumpkin patch for the perfect one (and then spending hours carving it to perfection!), picking apples, eating hot apple cider doughnuts, switching over to autumn-y nailpolishes, decking out the house in creepy halloween decorations, making halloween funfetti cupcakes, putting pumpkin stickers on all my outgoing mail, making pumpkin squash lattes, taking advantage of all the amazing squash in season, getting to wear cute jackets…I love Fall!!!
