Old Navy Supports Gay Marriage

I’ve been wearing a whole lot of Old Navy for over a decade, but I’ve never been specifically proud of the retailer, until now. Starting Monday they are taking a stand for gay marriage with a series of four limited-edition rainbow tees, with 10% of their profits will go to the It Gets Better project. This is a pretty ballsy stand for a mega-retailer to take; thus far it’s only been the small, high-end designers like Marc Jacobs that have done tees like this (and American Apparel, who has never made an effort to appeal to middle America).

There’s going to be a lot of inequality supporters squawking about family values and the “sanctity of marriage” I’M SURE, but they can blow it out their ear, amiright? Let’s go support Old Navy for taking a stand against hate.

The shirt above is my favorite, and the one I plan on getting my hands on. The other designs are kind of “meh” in my opinion (I’m allergic to white tee shirts and crew necks), but here they are.

Are you planning on wearing one?

I will most definitely be getting one. I’m knitting socks during my commute in a colorway of yarn that’s called Loud and Proud – it’s a 6-tone rainbow colorway, and I would consider wearing the shirt WITH the socks if I ever finish them. :)

way to go, Old Navy. Way. To. Go.

I have never shopped at Old Navy, but believe that I will be marching down to the nearest one straight (hum) away.

I will if they come in plus sizes ….

Which I’m betting that because ON doesn’t like plus sized customers (only available online? wha?) they won’t.

I had no idea Old Navy was doing this. That is fantastic. And the shirts are cute. I want one! But only if these tees are thicker than the ones they normally have for women which seem to be made out of air. Their lady tees are basically see-through they’re so thin.

This is great, and I as looking forward to getting one!
Unfortunately they are only carrying them in 16 states (none of which are near me) and are not going to have them available for order online!
Old Navy has been a stable of my wardrobe for years and being LGBT myself I wish I could buy one of these shirts! It is a step in the right direction though, maybe next year?
