Occasionally the magnitude of how sad everything is for me right now hits me out of the blue, like a fist when my head was turned, and I burst into tears unexpectedly, making me a super-fun party guest… or fellow grocery shopper.
But this song is pretty, and if we live in a world where people have voices this sweet, everything should eventually be ok, right?

it makes me so sad that you feel so sad. this is the hardest part, and it will get better–a day will come and surprise you with 100% joy and 0% sadness.

Also – I once cried in the middle of Eleven Madison Park because the suckling pig confit was so good and beautiful and perfect, and how could anyone ever despair when we all live in a world with so much beauty and so many moments of pleasure in it?
