About This Blog
Who are you?
My name is Amber Marlow Blatt (I got to pick the middle name myself – you can read about it here: “How I became Amber Marlow Blatt“).
I’m 28, I live in Brooklyn with my husband, Rob, and we have three dogs.
Here is a photo of me and Rob.
Right here I wanted to write, “He is a really good husband”, but I think it is more accurate to say “He is a really good friend”. Rob and I have a lot of fun together, and occasionally I get woozy from the level to which I love him. I hope you are, or eventually find yourself, as happy and as in love as I am. It is the ultimate.
Here are three things you should know about me: I would love to hold your baby. I would love to take your photo for you. I will get really excited if you tell me it’s your birthday.
What’s this blog about?
This blog is about me. I was raised super-strict home schooled Protestant Christian. No TV, no radio. The earth is 6000 years old. The rapture could happen at any moment. Jesus is always watching. You are either completely baffled by this, or shouting “Oh em gee! I knew someone like that once!” Maybe that someone was you. If so, reach out. I’ll buy you a bourbon that we can drink without fear of hellfire and brimstone. WHILE LISTENING TO ROCK MUSIC.
It was pretty tough growing up – there was a deep emotional imbalance in both of my parents, and I spent years barely breathing, waiting to exhale, trying to evolve… I’m better now, and I don’t speak to them anymore. This is a sad but good thing.
Now I write about a more fun life: living in Brooklyn, meeting friends from all over, caring for three dogs, being a podcaster, and working my way thorough a life list full of cool things I want to do.
The dandelion logo at the top of my blog is because I’m always wishing for something more; I’m big on self-improvement, and rocking the eff out of life. I want you to rock the eff out of your life, too. (And because, if a breeze catches me the right way, my hair looks similar to one.)
What else?
I started a podcast called Hey Brooklyn which is about creative, interesting people who live and work here. New episodes are posted every Friday.
I love taking photos, and I post them on my Flickr page.
I rock out. Pandora is one of the best things to have happened to me on the internet.
This is something nice that someone called Alison said about me: “The Amber One”. It makes me happy.
You can AIM me, too: YaosFriendBer. Sidenote: do you notice that almost no one has AIM handles that have anything to do with anything else they call themselves online?
Where else?
All of my guests posts and interviews with me are in one handy place: TheAmberShow.net/Elsewhere

For PR/marking
Hello, markety people! You’re busy, so let’s get down to the brass tax, shall we?
Advertising: Email me.
Product reviews: If you think I’ll like it, get in touch and tell me about it. I only turn down stuff I’m pretty sure I won’t like. If I get it and don’t like it, I won’t write about it unless you really want me to.
Book reviews: I like these! Same deal as the product reviews.
“I have a new ‘oh-so-Amber’ store opening/product launching. Will you mention it?”: Sure! Thanks for telling me!
“I have a great idea to promote my product and I want you to be involved.“: Coolness! Tell me about it.
Product review payment: No. Not now, not ever. Thank you gifts from YOUR store are the only form of “payment” I’m comfy accepting. And, obviously, I keep the stuff I review, too.

Hey Amber!
Saw your Twitter, we do in fact have Ugg insole replacements, they are under the “care and cleaning” section of Ugg boutique page (we’re revising the description so it’s easier to find them). Here’s the link to page:

hey amber,
thx for the add on flickr. I’m brand new to using the site so it’s nice to have a “buddy” linking to my photos. I also joined the mission 24 group cause it sounded like fun and will get me shooting more stuff other than dogs!
peace, dave

I love the name of your blog and your blog design – clean and simple. I'm thinking of a new blog design for my blog. It just got cleaned out all on its own.
I almost see a reflection of myself in you.

Hi Amber,
I’ve been a fan of your podcast for some time and FINALLY made it over here. Wish it hadn’t taken me so long! Love, love, love it! Thank you for sharing so much of yourself; has given me the courage to do the same on many occasions as of late.
Wondering: Is there an RSS button or equivalent on here somewhere? (Or is RSS outdated even? I only speak beginner level tech!)
Thanks,
Carolyn
