The Amber Sideshow

For the past few weeks I’ve been trying to maintain a two-post-a-day, ten-post-a-week blogging schedule: one post just after midnight and one at 12:30 pm, Monday through Friday. A reader noticed the uptick in posts and emailed to ask how I find so much blogging material. The answer is “Easy. I have TOO MUCH!”
There are dozens of blogs and news sources I keep up with on a daily basis, and everything I’d like to share here (in between my own personal writing) doesn’t get mentioned because there isn’t room.
To address this, I started a Tumblr account. This is the Wikipedia definition of a Tumblr blog (and this is a pretty accurate description of how most people use Tumblr):
“A tumblelog is a variation of a blog that favors short-form, mixed-media posts over the longer editorial posts frequently associated with blogging. Common post formats found on tumblelogs include links, photos, quotes, dialogues, and video. Unlike blogs, tumblelogs are frequently used to share the author’s creations, discoveries, or experiences while providing little or no commentary.”
Sharing the extra stuff on a mini-blog will be more fun than having a bookmark folder called “to blog about” full of good stuff that’s probably never going to get to see the light of day otherwise.
Here’s the link to mine *link!*
I’ll be making it pretty in the weeks to come, and adding a link to it on my sidebar, too.
photo from MarthaStewart.com. It’s a photo of double chocolate chip cookies because I am now double blogging, get it?!
The recipe is here.
