Oh my goodness. I need to round up some black girlfriends and go see this. I don’t have true “black” hair because I’m only half black, but I endured the relaxer/blow dry sessions for years before I said, “Forget it! I’m going natural!” I’m happier this way. In Bed Stuy, though, there were the women with the ironed, flattened hair, the weaves down to THERE and the straightened and then sculpted ‘dos that baffled the mind. Is it a sterotype if it’s just so fucking true?

Going to a late showing of Away We Go with Carissa. It’s finally out!
